About

My friends and I love to surf, but most days it's totally hit or miss. Surfline says one thing, other websites say another. Furthermore, there are so many people who go out solo who don't have other people to ask if the waves are good.

I wanted to simplify all of that, so I built locls.club.

We combine data from NOAA buoys, Open-Meteo forecasts, tide predictions, and water quality reports with texts from surfers who just got out of the water so you know what it's really like before you drive to the beach.

We only have Venice Beach for now, but I am adding spots as we continue to refine and build up a cool community!

Why is this website ugly?

How It Works

1. Check conditions. See the forecast, tides, wind, and what locals reported.

2. Go surf. If it looks good, paddle out.

3. Log your session. Text us how it was. Wave size, crowd, vibe, what you rode.

4. Your diary grows. Every session gets saved to your personal log. And your conditions update helps the next local out.

It Gets Smarter

Every session you text in teaches Locls Club what the waves are actually like—not just what the buoy says. The more surfers report, the better the forecasts get for everyone. Buoy data says 3 ft but it's actually chest high? That's exactly the kind of thing that makes the next report more accurate.

Right now we're learning Venice Beach. The more people use it, the smarter it gets.
